Nia Guzman Files for More Child Support from Chris Brown

Florida fans of singer Chris Brown may be aware that he has been in a dispute with Nia Guzman, the mother of his daughter Royalty. Guzman is requesting that she be given more in child support. She previously lived in Texas, and when she was there, she asked for $15,000 per month. However, she was only awarded $2,500.

She moved to Los Angeles in 2015, but allegedly, at least one source close to Chris Brown says that it was only in a bid to get more in child support. After establishing full residency there, she filed a new lawsuit in an effort to get the amount increased.

Another source claimed that Guzman is angry about Brown flashing his wealth on social media while paying relatively little to support his daughter. Allegedly, Guzman wants their daughter to have all the opportunities in life she can, and she feels as though Brown does not grasp this.

Many fathers who are less famous than Chris Brown may feel as though they are also being asked to pay an unfair amount for child support. A number of factors may affect how much a father is ordered to pay, and if he has a change in financial circumstances, he should go to court to have the monthly payments reduced rather than simply not paying. Fathers may also struggle for visitation rights, and in so doing, they may need to demonstrate their involvement with their children. For example, turning up at school events as much as possible and doing other activities that show their commitment to parenting can be helpful. A father who is unhappy with the parenting time that he has been given or with the amount of child support that he has been ordered to pay may want to meet with an attorney to see what recourse may be available.
